Another day, more accolades for Sacramento as a high school football region.
MaxPreps released its Division II All-State team, a group headed by Coach of the Year Kris Richardson of Folsom and two Bulldogs. Three Grant players also made the first team, as did one from Del Oro.
Quarterback Dano Graves is the MaxPreps D-II MVP after accounting for a state-record 85 total touchdowns. With Sacramento State his final recruiting stop this weekend, Graves will announce next week where he will play college football.
Folsom wide receiver Tyler Trosin, Grant tailback Shaq Thompson, Del Oro offensive lineman Ryan Cope and Grant defensive linemen Vei Moala and Puka Lopa also made the MaxPreps first team. Graves was The Bee's Player of the Year, and Moala and Lopa were The Bee's Defensive Players of the Year.
The MaxPreps D-II second team included lineman Stephen Sippel of Folsom, defensive end Houston Wilfley of Casa Roble and defensive backs Ference Lang of Grant and Jordan Richards of Folsom.
